Writers’ Lab Taster – d/Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent

Tue 22 Jul 25 120 minutes
Curious to try writing and not sure where to begin? Want to find out more about opportunities for aspiring and emerging playwrights at Soho Theatre in a safe community environment together with other d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists?

Our online Writers’ Lab taster session for d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent writers will introduce you to a range of introductory playwriting skills including: how to develop characters, build your world, write sparky dialogue, and much more. All lead by one of our wonderful Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab facilitators, queer & disabled artist Jules Haworth.

If you’ve ever been curious to try a bit of creative writing for the stage, come along and check it out. You will meet a friendly community of peers in a safe and warm environment. The session is online so you can do it from the comfort of your home – and it’s only £8 for a two-hour session. Once you’ve booked, we will be in touch to check in about any access provisions we can arrange to make sure you have the best experience of the session that we can arrange.

And if you enjoy the taster, we warmly invite you to apply for our 9-month Writers’ Lab programme.

If you require a bursary in order to attend, please contact us at engagement@sohotheatre.com
