How do you rekindle your childhood joy after 3 years of lockdowns and pandemics?

Remember that feeling when you woke up in the morning at 5 years old, like an erection, just excited to start the day? It was just..pure joy.  I (comedian, storyteller, charlatan) Kiran Deol, am looking to recapture that feeling.  But as I’ve gotten older, all kinds of things have chipped away at that joy: I call them joysucks.  Which is also the name of the show. JOYSUCK is an original standup and storytelling hour to identify these joysucks and how to (maybe! possibly! hopefully!) overcome them along the way. Come, and laugh, and reclaim your joy!

Kiran is a co-host on Crooked Media’s Hysteria podcast and has made films for HBO and Sundance, been nominated for an Emmy, and shortlisted for an Academy Award. Kiran has also headlined at the New York Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and starred on the NBC/Hulu comedy Sunnyside from Mike Schur and Kal Penn, in addition to other shows like How to Get Away with Murder and Modern Family.

Blake Silver is a director and writer. Notably, Silver was on the directing team for Deaf West’s Tony nominated Broadway revival of Spring Awakening, which brought the musical to life through American Sign Language. As a writer his television credits include Autumn In The City, starring Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights), and Unlocking Christmas with Steve Lund (Schitt’s Creek). He also penned the rom/com musical, A Christmas Duet, starring Rome Flynn (How To Get Away With Murder) which was quickly followed by wanderlust adventure, Love On Iceland.
