Not only seeing her, but having full on conversations with her. As Emily’s presence becomes more and more overwhelming, seeping into her relationship, damaging her performance at work, and straining her commitment to her ailing parents, the line between happiness and delusion becomes blurred. How do you truly let go of someone when you imagined they’d be there forever?
All The Happy Things is a dark comedy about the power of sisterhood and grief, told through a Global Majority lens. It was nominated for Soho Theatre’s Tony Craze Award in 2020.
As part of the All The Happy Things run at Soho Theatre, we will be hosting a BLACK OUT night on Wednesday 16th April.
“A concept birthed by Slave Play playwright Jeremy O. Harris, a BLACK OUT is the purposeful creation of an environment in which an all-Black-identifying audience can experience and discuss an event in the performing arts – free from the white gaze.”
