Soho Theatre in association with Berk’s Nest and Curtis Brown present:

Jack Rooke: Good Grief

Edinburgh Fringe run Wed 27 Aug 25 – Sat 29 Aug 26 70 minutes
A decade retrospective of capitalising on my dead dad to varied levels of failure and success.

Soho Theatre Comedy Lab Alumni, BAFTA winner and recovering spoken-word artist Jack Rooke (Creator of Hulu/C4’s Big Boys), brings back his debut comedy-theatre hour for the exact 10 year anniversary of its first run at Soho Theatre.

Featuring snippets from the 2015 show co-written with his nan, this retrospective will further explore grief, ambition, being a class traitor, milking having a dead dad for personal/professional gain, the innocence of writing just for oneself before the interference of “telly wankers”, and the palpable regret of his own decline into becoming said “telly wanker”.

Directed by Gabriel Bisset-Smith (now a telly wanker) and made with support from Soho Theatre.

Content: this show may contain potentially triggering stories around grief, suicide and losing awards.
