Here you’ll find everything you need to know about applying for one of our roles.
What are the roles?
We’re recruiting for people to work in our Audience Experience team and our Hospitality (food & beverage) team.
These roles are key to welcoming people and providing a great experience for all those who come into our building. If that’s you, then we’d love to receive an application from you. Judging from the enquiries we’ve had so far; we’re expecting a high volume of applications.
What age do I need to be to work at Soho Theatre Walthamstow?
You must be over the age of 16 to join our team, and we require anyone selling alcohol (such as our bar team) to be over the age of 18.
How many jobs are there?
We’re currently recruiting up to 100 people to join Soho Theatre Walthamstow across our audience experience and hospitality (food & beverage) teams.
Are the jobs all full time?
There’s a range of roles on offer in the teams. There’ll be some permanent (full time and part-time) and some flexible (zero hours) roles for shifts each week.
While we’re still working out our opening hours, there will be times when the building will open at 9am (sometimes earlier) and close at 2am on weekends. So, it’s worth being aware that in these roles you might be asked to work an early morning shift or a late evening shift, including weekends.
What are the salaries for the roles?
Salaries and rates of pay are detailed in each job specification and differ depending on seniority. Soho Theatre is committed to London Living Wage.
Do I need previous experience in the job I'm applying for?
This depends on how senior the role is. For example, if you are applying for a bar supervisor role, we’re looking for people who have relevant experience in a similar role, whereas our assistant and usher roles can be a great entry level opportunity into the arts & entertainment industry and full training will be provided.
Do I have to fill in an application form to apply?
We have a couple of ways you can apply for the role. You can complete an application form (which you’ll find on the jobs page) or you can send us a video instead – please see the website for more information. Either way, you should make sure you answer why you think you’re suitable for the role and why would you like to work at Soho Theatre Walthamstow.
Unfamiliar with job applications or not sure what to include? The application form and job description will detail the kind of things we’d like to know about you, but our main tip is to tell us how your qualities and skills meet the person specification. If you have other experience that you think supports your application, great, include it. If not, don’t worry, it’s more important we get a sense of who you are and how you might interact with our audiences and visitors.
It’s important that you submit your application to the correct email address on the jobs page, otherwise we might miss your application.
Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes, you can, you just need to make it clear on your form which roles you’re applying for. Make sure you include the reasons as to why you’d be good for each role you’re applying for (we recommend looking at the job description to help make your case!).
Can I chat to anyone about the roles?
Sure can. We’ll be bringing our team to Walthamstow while applications are open, so pop along and chat to us:
