Help! A patchwork elephant has been spotted roaming in Waltham Forest and we need your help to find him.
Come along and hear stories about his adventures, help find all his patchwork colours across Walthamstow and make patchwork Christmas decorations to display in the foyer of Soho Theatre Walthamstow (if we make enough, we might just be able to get him to come to the theatre!)
All activities are FREE. Just drop by and get stuck in. Can you help us track down this mysterious patchwork elephant?

The Elmer Adventure: Walthamstow Treasure Trail
From Mon 27 Oct until early Dec

We’re on the hunt for the mysterious patchwork elephant across Walthamstow. Pick up your explorer passport and follow the trail across local businesses to help us find Elmer the elephant’s patchwork colours. Each time you spot him, you’ll be given a passport stamp. Complete your passport, hand it back into the theatre before Mon 15 Dec and be entered for a special prize.
Elmer Storytime at Leyton Library
Sat 25 Oct 11am – 12pm

Elmer Activity Day at Soho Theatre Walthamstow
Mon 27 Oct 11am – 3pm
- At 11am, it’s Elmer Storytime. Come and hear some tales about our favourite colourful elephant.
- From 1.30pm, we’ll be making colourful patchwork-inspired Christmas decorations – paperchains, colouring in sheets, patchwork ornaments – to decorate our foyer over the festive period.
- You’ll also be able to buy Elmer books, goodies and tickets for the Soho Theatre Walthamstow Christmas show, The Elmer Adventure.

Come along to E17 & Central and help us find Elmer the patchwork elephant – we’ve heard he’s hiding in various stores across the shopping centre. So grab your treasure hunt map from our stall and see if you can spot him. If you spot them all, drop off at the 17 & Central reception to go into our patchwork prize draw!
