Our Comedy Lab Plus is for comedians who already have experience gigging and are looking for the next step. If you have 30 or more gigs under your belt, this Lab will help you polish material, hone your voice and also offers practical advice from industry professionals. Continue working on your comedic craft and collaborate with other up and coming acts in a creatively challenging, supportive environment.
Comedy Lab: Plus has alternating terms with different points of focus. While the last Plus term was all about stand-up, this coming autumn term concentrates more on clowning, character and alt comedy, led by wonderfully absurd funny man Josh Glanc, with support from guest artists.
Whether you’re a clown, character or alt comedian who wants to expand your skillset and punch up your material, or a stand-up who wants to expand into bringing more physicality, character, or audience interaction into your set – Plus Lab is for everyone who is interested in taking their comedy to the next level.
The Comedy Lab Plus group meet weekly on Saturdays, with a public sharing at the final session at our Dean Street venue, to celebrate all you’ve learned over the course. We ask that participants commit to attending all 10 weeks.

Sat 3rd Oct – session 1 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 10th Oct – session 2 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 17th Oct – session 3 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 24th Oct – session 4 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 31st Oct – session 5 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 7th Nov – session 6 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 14th Nov – session 7 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 21st Nov – session 8 (10:00 – 12:30)
Sat 28th Nov – TECH (10:00 – 14:00)
Sat 5th Dec – SHOWCASE (10:00 – 17:00 with the showcase at 15:00)

Applications & Fees:
£150 (Partial and full bursaries are available to those on Universal Credit and other welfare benefits. However, if cost is a barrier to participating, contact us at engagement@sohotheatre.com and we can discuss payment options
