You saw them here first: this February, 26 rising stars of theatre, comedy, cabaret and drag showcase their work in Soho Theatre’s annual two-week festival, Soho Rising.
All featured artists have participated in one of Soho Theatre’s illustrious Labs, our unparalleled talent development programme which engages hundreds of ambitious, emerging talents, year on year.
Exceptionally, for 2024, Soho Theatre invited any previous Writer’s Lab, Comedy Lab or Cabaret & Drag Lab participants to apply to appear in the festival with an hour-long theatre, comedy or cabaret show, created any time since 2021.
Artists supported by Soho Theatre Labs go on to blaze a trail of acclaim at the heart of the comedy, theatre, cabaret and drag scenes.
Artists in this year’s Soho Rising Festival are (in order of appearance): Kit Sinclair, Kathryn Mather, Chin Wang, Maygan Forbes, Sidsel Rostrup and Suzy Kohane, Katie Sayer and William Johnston, Henry Moss, Francesca Reid, Joshua Bethania, Shanika Warren-Markland, Su Mi, Shafeeq Shajahan, Maryam Garad, Soph Galustian, Gabriele Uboldi, Ruby Carr, Charlie Vero-Martin, Dylan Aiello and Scarlett Stitt, Lilly Burton, Runi Talwar, Marie Kallevik and Anna Marie Simonsen, Kuan-wen Huang, Lula Mebrahtu, Bi Curious George, Kwami Odoom, and Jonathan Oldfield.
