- Soho Theatre announces UK tour and Edinburgh Festival Fringe run for one of India’s most prominent comedians, KANAN GILL, with new stand-up show NOT THIS AGAIN.
- Coming to Leicester, London, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester in Sep 2026.
- 2 weeks at Edinburgh Festival Fringe: 18-30 Aug, 9.10pm at Pleasance Courtyard (One)
Soho Theatre first introduced Kanan Gill to London audiences in 2019 at Soho’s Comedy Tent at Diwali in the Square, which was then followed by two sold-out runs at Soho Theatre, an Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 2024 and a UK tour which kicked off at Southbank Centre. In May 2025, Kanan performed at Soho Theatre Walthamstow’s historic opening gala alongside fellow Soho favourites such as Rosie Jones, CHRISTEENE, and Alex Horne.
Originally a software engineer, Kanan gained viral momentum with YouTube series Pretentious Movie Reviews, building a strong digital fanbase that has translated into a commanding live career and social media audience of over 1.5 million. He has now headlined sold-out theatres and auditoriums around the world, with his most recent world tour reaching over 100,000 people across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. In addition to stand-up, Kanan has written, acted, and released multiple comedy specials, and in 2024 he released his debut novel Acts of God.
This upcoming tour is part of Soho Theatre’s ongoing cultural exchange with international partners, and India in particular, to strengthen its global connections and enrich its programme. As the driving force behind the ‘unstoppable rise of Indian comedy in the UK’ (The Guardian, May 2024), over the past decade Soho Theatre has introduced over 30 Indian artists to the UK, on stages ranging from Soho Theatre and Soho Theatre Walthamstow to the Royal Albert Hall, and the many stages at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including Abishek & Nirmal, Aditi Mittal, Anirban Dasgupta, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kaneez Surka, Prashasti Singh, Rahul Dua, Rohan Joshi, Sapan Verma, Shamik Chakrabarti, Shreeja Chaturvedi, Suhani Shah, Sumukhi Suresh, Urooj Ashfaq, Vir Das, and Zakir Khan. Soho Theatre also produced dates in Indian venues with UK comedians Ahir Shah, Catherine Bohart, Janine Harouni, Lauren Pattison, Nina Conti, Olga Koch and Toussaint Douglass.
