The LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary comedy collective is bringing their festive show to Soho Theatre’s gorgeous theatre, with all-new material about being a ho ho homo at Christmastime.
Join us for an hour of excessively queer stand-up, sketch comedy, and maybe even a gay carol (we mean a song, we cannot confirm the attendance of Cate Blanchett) from the UK’s favourite queer comedy troupe.
About The LOL Word
Founded by best mates and rising stars, The LOL Word serves up a tasty mixed bill of new and established queer women and non-binary stand-up and sketch comedy talent.
They’re tearing up the rule book and reinventing the comedy club with jokes that won’t make you hate the world (no sexism, racism, transphobia, classism etc). There’s no punching down, but plenty of punching the patriarchy.
The LOL Word is the antidote to the pale/male/stale and predominantly straight state of the comedy world: they dish up incredible talent, with a night that’s simultaneously inclusive and outrageous, smart and silly.
The LOL Word’s founders are Chloe Petts, Jodie Mitchell, Chloe Green and sketch duo Shelf. Their regular guests include Suzi Ruffell, Sofie Hagen, Rosie Jones, Sophie Duker, Sarah Keyworth, Fern Brady, Kemah Bob, Catherine Bohart, Jordan Gray and Grace Petrie.
