Hakaya: A British-Arab Variety Show

Sami Abu Wardeh
Sami won the Brighton Fringe Reviews Hub Award 2021 for a show with comedy duo Siblings entitled Siblings and Sami. And his solo debut hour Bedu at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was listed as one of the ten best live comedy shows of 2022 in the Guardian.

Roann Hassani McCloskey
Following sell-out shows at Vault Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Soho Theatre, Roann is over-sharing once again, bringing her hilarious, award winning approach to story-telling and comedy. Roann recently made her West End debut with Hakawatis at the Globe Theatre, playing the role of ‘Naha The Wise’.

Hassan Abdulrazzak
Hassan Abdulrazzak is an award-winning playwright based in London. His plays have been performed in the UK and internationally, including: The Special Relationship (Soho Theatre, 2020), And Here I Am (Arcola Theatre, 2017), Love, Bombs and Apples (Arcola Theatre, 2016), The Prophet (Gate theatre, 2012) and Baghdad Wedding (Soho Theatre, London 2007; BBC Radio 3).

Laith Elzubaidi
Laith Elzubaidi is a British-Iraqi screenwriter, director and performer based in London. His scripts have won accolades at the Edinburgh TV Festival and Soho House. He currently has a sitcom in development with Three Little Birds Pictures called The Weekly Wembley– a nostalgic love letter to multicultural inner-city London school life.

Riwa Saab
Riwa Saab is a cross-disciplinary artist. She began writing and performing her original music while growing up in Beirut, before moving into theatre to develop her unique style of story-telling. Her work has been shared at the Lyric Hammersmith, Barbican, Richmix, and Roundhouse.
