All is not as it screams (seems) ...

Heeeeeeeeere’s Crybabies. Fresh from the Fringe, join the Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated sketch group and ‘masters of the craft’ (Guardian) for a terrifying tale about fear, faith, fathers (dads), fathers (priests), fantoms (phantoms) and finally moving on.

When former priest Arthur Holland checks into a remote hotel, he soon finds out it’s not just the breakfast buffet which poses a threat to life. Forced into an unlikely double act with Gerry, the ghost of a long dead guest, Arthur must tackle demons both public and private under the watchful eye of Mr Lyle – the hotel’s Norman Bates-esque manager.

The Scaring reunites director Jon Brittain and producers Francesca Moody Productions, the Olivier Award-winning collaboration behind Baby Reindeer and Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! FMP return to Soho Theatre this autumn following their 2026 Olivier-nominated production Weather Girl, which also transferred from the Fringe.

Crybabies are the comedic union of Michael Clarke, James Gault, and Ed Jones. Their debut show, Danger Brigade, scooped them a nomination for Best Newcomer at the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards with their smash-hit follow up Bagbeard selling out multiple runs at Soho Theatre. Since then, their Radio 4 specials Crybabies Present… have received back to back BBC Audio Drama Award nominations while establishing the trio as one of the country’s best loved sketch groups. Individually, they have starred in some of the biggest comedies on TV including After Life, Extraordinary and Big Boys, while also gaining over 100 million views across Instagram and TikTok.
