Avital Ash: Workshops Her Suicide Note

Mon 13 – Tue 14 May 24 60 minutes
Telegraph
Chortle
Ever since she was a baby and her mother took her own life, Avital has felt summoned to the other side, aka the vast nothingness.

But she’d hate to be labelled a copycat, plus, who wants to turn into their mother? Avital Ash’s critically acclaimed Fringe debut explores growing up a Hasidic Jew, depression, queer identity, and generational Holocaust trauma, all while being hilarious. The results are an irreverent show where Avital expertly bounces from black humour to jokes so silly you almost miss the gospel in them.

Avital is a writer on an upcoming comedy series for Netflix, with over 100 million views and over 300k followers for her standup on TikTok and Instagram. She had a recurring role on Barry, and did voice over on the smash hit video game Oxenfree and its new sequel.

Avital Ash Workshops Her Suicide Note received 11 four-star reviews, including from The Telegraph, The Scotsman, and Chortle. She brings it to LA, NY, and back to the UK in early 2024.

‘Smart, poetic, witty…both heart-rending and funny’
Chortle
‘Takes the rawest subject-matter and brings to it an unsentimental eye for a razor-sharp joke’
