Soho Upstairs
Our studio theatre space is a black box space ideal for readings, workshops and small showcases.
To check the availability of the space please email hires@sohotheatre.com with your preferred dates, times and details of your event.
Seating is usually laid out between 80 and 94.
The space is licensed to a maximum or 100, this includes staff and performers.
Room size: 11 × 9 metres
Stage size: usually 6 × 3 metres (can vary depending on layout and set)
Seating is on three sides, including a fixed seating bank on a raked steel deck.
A Technician, Duty Manager and Front of House staff are included with your booking.
There is lift access to the venue, which includes the stage.
Please note as this venue is our studio space there is a fairly low ceiling; clearance is 2.3m and is very limited backstage space.
Availability
Monday-Saturday 9am – 6pm
Sunday 10am – 10pm
All is availability is dependent on the Soho programme.
Pricing
Monday- Saturday £165 per hour + VAT
Sunday £200 per hour + VAT
Minimum booking of three hours.

Additional equipment or services (some costs may apply):
- Yamaha keyboard and amp available (full-size, weighted keys, sustain pedal)
- Screen and projector can be made available
- Standing mics can be provided free of charge; lapel mics will be recharged
- A range of catering services are available from our bar.
This space is usually clear and neutral for daytime use. Occasionally, there will be a larger set in place that cannot be moved for daytime use. If this is the case, we aim to send the client plans and photos as soon as they are available.
Dressing room facilities are not included with hire; as an alternative dressing room / break out space, the Seminar Room on the same floor can be booked for at an additional cost.
Unfortunately we cannot offer Box Office and promotional services.
