Star of Taskmaster NZ Chris Parker returns to Soho Theatre with a brand-new show, after a sold out week of performances last year.

“Hello! I’ve been vying for your attention for a long time now. I’d comfortably say, it’s been 30 years. Thirty years of trying to make people look at me.

In that time there have been many attempts to try and masquerade it as something “important” or “educational” but the longer I’ve sat with it, the more I’ve come to accept that it could maybe just be vanity. So I won’t sugar coat it in the blurb. There’re no secrets about to be dished, no valuable lesson to take away. I’m just a 35-year-old gay man, who was told there was something special about him as a kid and has been grappling with that ever since, standing in front of an audience asking them to take a good hard look at ME!”

Chris Parker has competed on Taskmaster New Zealand, Thank God You’re Here, and Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee; toured sold-out theatres across New Zealand and Australia; hosted the New Zealand Comedy Festival Galas; and created and written his own critically acclaimed sitcom Double Parked.
