It’s time to come together to celebrate the power of equality — and show that we can beat the old boys’ club!

This year, Soho Theatre Walthamstow plays host to an event celebrating International Women’s Day, Curated by Stella Creasy and Mums Who Build, this is a day of talks, stalls, creativity, and inspiration open to anyone who believes we can build it better.

Funds raised will go to Furnishing Futures, supporting survivors of domestic abuse to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Exclusive Festival Kick-Off: In Conversation: “Can We Beat the Old Boys’ Club?”

Kick off the festival with an electrifying, one-of-a-kind panel featuring some of the most fearless, brilliant, and hilarious women shaping culture today. Hear bold ideas, personal stories, laughs, and inspiration from chefs, authors, comedians, broadcasters, psychologists, and musicians — all united in challenging the status quo.

Featuring:

  • Andi Oliver: trailblazing chef and cultural icon
  • Juno Dawson: author and outspoken advocate for equality
  • Professor Helen Pankhurst: leading voice on women’s rights
  • Ashley James: inspiring storyteller and broadcaster
  • Shappi Khorsandi: comedian challenging stereotypes with sharp humour and member of Soho Theatre Board
  • Martha Deiros Collado: expert on childhood resilience and growth
  • Låpsley: singer bringing soul and emotion to the conversation

The festival opens its doors to everyone from 2.30pm. Browse and shop from a brilliant range of female-led businesses, including handmade jewellery by Oolo London, fashion from IVY, personal styling, and other creative enterprises — alongside local charities and grassroots organisations driving change in the community.

Mums Who Build, Whirl & Wonder (your second-time-parent community), and the Rare Mare Selfie Booth will also be running fun, creative, and playful activities for children and families, making the afternoon enjoyable for all ages.

Join female-founded-and-owned local movement studio East of Eden for a joyful afternoon of movement as part of the festival in a series of classes designed to make you feel strong, empowered and properly alive, plus fun and confidence-boosting sessions for kids too, so the whole family can get involved. Whether you’re brand new to movement or a seasoned regular, our sessions are open, welcoming and built to meet you where you are. 

Access to the festival from 2.30pm is subject to capacity of the building, so arrive early for guaranteed entry.
