After the Summer Picnic festival wraps up in Lloyd Park come and join us for more fun. For those coming straight from the park we have a warm up bar inThe Collab. with DJs to keep you in the mood from 7pm – 10pm. This is just two doors down from our main venue – Soho Theatre, Walthamstow.
From 10pm (once the audience has exited from Justin Vivian Bond’s show in the main auditorium) all ticket holders can enter the Foyer Bar in Soho Theatre, Walthamstow where the party continues until the small hours.
We have some amazing guests headlining this party: Simon Lee who is one half of the pioneering duo Faze Action, known for shaping the sound of modern Disco, House, and Balearic music over the past two decades. Their debut album made instant waves when it was released on Nuphonic Records, based at the equally iconic Blu Note Club—a key force in reshaping Shoreditch’s 90s scene, hosting legends such as Goldie, Bjork, Talvin Singh, and Andy Weatherall.
Alongside his brother Robin, Simon then went on to release five acclaimed albums, countless remixes, and timeless tracks like “In the Trees” and “Disco Motion,” both underground classics that fueled the global disco revival.
As a DJ, Simon brings depth and energy to the crowd, blending Afro, Disco, house and Balearic numbers with a selector’s ear and a producer’s instinct. His sets reflect years spent crate-digging, studio crafting, and performing worldwide. Joining him as co-headliner will be Lex (Athens) who is flying in from Greece to play this gig specially for us.
Lex’s unique psychedelic disco sound borrows from a lively palette of house and techno, always with a nod to organic funk and soul. He has an album out on local Leytonstone label Leng Records.
Warm up will be provided by local DJ heroes Dom Mandrell the co-director of the Summer Picnic festival and Groova as well as a few extra surprise guests in the mix.
All proceeds from ticket sales go towards keeping the festival free and helping it grow next year.
