Autumn Theatre Season 2019
World premieres, Edinburgh transfers and returning Soho favourites - a new season of surprise and subversion.
True to our Artistic Vision, we’ve found ways to make Soho Theatre reach even further over the past 12 months. We’ve been to The Abbey in Dublin, Lyric Belfast, Oxford Playhouse, all over Edinburgh during the biggest arts festival in the world, and across London – directing new shows and projects for the company, as well as our brilliant fundraising Gala in March. This Easter we’ll be popping up in Ipswich, Ireland, Australia and Munich. So we’re getting around a fair bit.
Last year, over 60,000 people saw our work outside of our base on Dean Street where some 167,000 of you came through our doors (that’s a whopping 227,000 in total), but we’re keen to grow that. In March Artistic Director Steve Marmion has been in Cardiff where he directed one of the biggest projects Soho Theatre has ever been involved in – Only The Brave, an epic new World War II musical about love, friendship and, above all, hope. A co-production with Wales Millennium Centre, it’s on the biggest and most beautiful stage in the UK.
Only The Brave is an important, relevant and thrilling piece of theatre – check out the trailer. But if you can’t get to see it whilst it’s in Cardiff, there’s plenty for you to see back here in London.
Or you can catch Kite in Ipswich, Bath and Wales; put the world to rights with Penny Arcade in Melbourne; join Kim Noble in Munich and get up close and personal with Bryony and Tim in Ireland. Hopefully we’ll see you somewhere in the near future
