A unique opportunity to see inside the historic EMD Cinema (formerly the Granada) on Hoe Street in Walthamstow ahead of its extensive renovation.

The former EMD /Granada Cinema in Walthamstow is a Grade II listed art deco cine-variety hall first opened in 1930. Having closed as a venue over 15 years ago, and following the purchase of the site by Waltham Forest Council, Soho Theatre and Waltham Forest Council are in partnership to reopen the building in 2022 as a local theatre with a national profile.

Organised and led by Waltham Forest Council and Soho Theatre these tours will be a unique opportunity to see the auditorium in its current state before it undergoes three years remodelling and renovation to become a world class 21st century performance venue for comedy, theatre, music and screenings.

Tours are free but strictly limited to 2 places per person and there is a limited number of tickets available for all tours.

Meeting place: 202 Hoe Street, Walthamstow, E17 4BS. (5mins walk from Walthamstow Central Station, only a few doors down from the cinema).

Duration: Tours will last approximately 20 minutes, with opportunity to talk with representatives from Soho Theatre and Waltham Forest Council directly following.

Bookings: are essential, please arrive no later than five minutes prior to tour time.
