Multi award-winner Demi Lardner make her Soho Theatre debut with her unpredictable, high-energy and surreal new show Ditch Witch 800.
Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Demi Lardner (Mike Myers), whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairytale characters. Your virtue is pressed between the leaves of a hymn book.
Since winning the 2013 RAW Comedy competition in Australia and So You Think You’re Funny? in Edinburgh, Demi has spent the past few years taking her unique live performances around Australia and the world, picking up a solid and healthy slew of fans and awards along the way. 2018 saw Lardner shift gear, adding Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Pinder Prize to her 2017 MICF Director’s Choice Award. Lardner, who was the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer in 2016, also took out the Underbelly Edinburgh Award at the 2017 Adelaide Fringe.
Since performing her first solo show in 2015, Lardner has performed at the invitation-only Just for Laughs in Montreal and taken her shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She has climbed over audiences at the fundraising Melbourne International Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala (ABC), and been seen on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow (ABC).
If you like your comedy surreal and occasionally awkward, pop Demi Lardner on your 2019 dance card.
'It's odd and unpredictable; refreshing, endearing and hilarious.’
