Deirdre O'Kane has really hit her stride. Footloose from a glittering turn on 'Dancing with the Stars' (Ireland's answer to Strictly) and revelling in her return to stand-up, Deirdre's at her hilarious best in a straight-talking look at twelve frantic months in the life of this tango-tripping, family-minding, telly-making, house-moving, comedy dynamo.
Deirdre has performed around the world at Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Melbourne Comedy Festival and Adelaide Comedy Festival. Recently, she has hosted the Irish Film and Television Academy Awards (IFTAs) two years in a row. She is the voice of Gogglebox in Ireland and was co-presenter on The Six O’Clock Show, also on TV3. She has appeared on Dave’s As Yet Untitled and BBC Two’s QI, and also starred alongside Debi Mazar and Hillary Duff in Darren Starr’s hit sitcom Younger (TV Land, US) in 2017.
She hosted and co-wrote the ten-part TV series of stand-up comedy and sketches called The Lounge for RTÉ/BBC which included guests such as Rich Hall, Adam Hills, Jeff Green and Dara O Briain. She was a guest on The Panel hosted by Dara O Briain (RTÉ) and starred in Edinburgh and Beyond (Comedy Central).
