The Olivier Award-winning godfathers of alternative cabaret return to Soho Theatre.
This July, Opera North Projects offers the chance for audiences to rediscover the music of Cole Porter, as cult cabaret trio The Tiger Lillies uncover the delight, despair and delirium that lies beneath the surface of Porter’s more romantic and mysterious works in Love for Sale.
Olivier Award-winning musicians Martyn Jacques and Adrian Stout – who make up The Tiger Lillies – return to Soho Theatre for another Opera North Projects commission. In typical Tiger Lillies style, this twisted and grimy cabaret will reimagine some of Porter’s best-loved classics including My Heart Belongs to Daddy, Love for Sale and Miss Otis Regrets as well as hits from his most famous musicals.
Running Time: 75 mins
‘The execution is impeccable throughout, phenomenal.’
★★★★★ Guardian (on The Tiger Lillies: Live in Concert)
‘What is certain, Porter’s songs have never been interpreted like this… Unorthodox but brilliant… wonderfully haunting.’
‘An album and more shows will surely follow.’
‘…clever arrangements… this is no ordinary retrospective of one of the more prolific hit-writers of the early 20th century’.
