What would you do if your wife and child were held hostage?

When an ordinary office worker returns home to find his wife and child kidnapped, he’s drawn into a dark and dangerous game of revenge where manga comic-strip frenzy turns into an absurd and ferocious nightmare.

First performed at Soho Theatre in 2006, and then making a clean sweep of all major theatre awards in Tokyo, The Bee now comes back to Soho following a New York run with original Olivier Award winning star Kathryn Hunter (The Visit, Kafka’s Monkey) and Japanese theatre legend Hideki Noda.

Transferring from New York, on its way to Hong Kong and back to Tokyo – don’t miss the opportunity to see this play based on the short story Plucking At Each Other written by Yasutaka Tsutsui.

Originally produced by NODA-MAP and Soho Theatre in 2006.

‘It’s an honour to be collaborating with this company of brilliant theatre makers again. It promises to be a beautiful and powerful night of theatre.’
Steve Marmion

‘Shocking, inspiring, laugh-out-loud funny, but never a compromising moment. The Bee is a wonderful tale, which manages to suck its audience into a gruesome game of switching perspectives and dark humour… Book a ticket before it leaves for its world tour.’

  4. I came up from Exeter to see this play and it was worth every minute of a long train journey. I'd already read the script and, to be honest, wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I was gripped from start to finish, and it stayed with me afterwards. A beautiful production. Thank you.

  5. Is it first-come-first-served? I don't see any seat number reference.

  6. I'm a writer, and I heard a song playing before the show that gave me a great visual. Trouble is, I can't find the song anywhere. It was an Japanese version of "Hotel California." Does anyone know if the song is available to the public? Thanks.

    LOVED THE SHOW BTW!
