A provocative, rigorous and untamed extravaganza for the festive period

Putting the magic back into menstruation, Marisa Carnesky along with a cast of extraordinary women from London’s cabaret scene have reinvented menstrual rituals for a new era drawing on the hidden power of a forgotten matriarchal past.

Delivered with wry humour, revolutionary politics and spectacular performances including radical reworks of traditional magic illusions, sword swallowing, hair hanging, and expressionist cabaret.

What incredible cultural revelations will Dr Carnesky’s illuminating performance lecture uncover about this last unmentionable taboo? How will the Menstruants seek to expose misogynist menstrual shame and release the untapped power of human cyclical renewal through the execution of spectacular activist rituals?

Featuring performed rituals from collaborating artists Fancy Chance, Rhyannon Styles, MisSa Blue, H Plewis, Nao Nagai, Pryia Mistry and Molly Beth Morossa.

Running Time: 75 mins
