Under 11s playwriting scheme

This is a scheme for 10 and 11 year-old students to learn about playwriting in a practical and exciting way.

Soho Theatre works with 10 primary schools in Westminster and Hackney. We hold two workshops with each school, with professional actors, to encourage children to value playwriting as challenging, stimulating and fun. All participants are then invited to write a short play of no more than 5 minutes and enter it into the competition.

Each year we receive in excess of 200 plays; at least 20 of the best and most representative are then professionally produced at Soho Theatre to an audience of students and teachers who took part. There is also a public performance of the work.
