
Six writers are selected to enter a year-long relationship with the Company which begins with a commission for a new full-length play. The aims of the programme are: to help the writer develop a body of new work; to help foster the professional identity of playwrights in their early careers; to nourish Soho Theatre's mainstage season; and to expose emerging playwrights to as many different mediums and opportunities as possible. We do this through readings, workshops, partnerships with other theatres, research support, mentorships and guest teachers, retreats and one-to-one dramaturgical sessions.
