Tuesday 1st July
Hi guys!  I’m Estella Daniels. We all had a great day yesterday working on some fantastic scripts.  It’s day 2 of the under 11’s project and today I’ll be working on NINTENDO CRAZY by Asha Dudmish, Alice Robb and Molly Lisle.  I’m really excited about this play, as it explores the relationship between a mother and daughter and the changing of their roles.  It’s a bit like the film; ‘Freaky Friday’.  I play the ‘Posh’ mother who is obsessed with her daughters Nintendo DS and as the play unfolds I become a spoilt child – that’s really fun.
It’s really been fun working on the scripts, and the cast and crew are all a great bunch.
It’s hard to tell at this stage, but I think the best play will be...Nah, you’ll have to wait and see and decide for yourselves!

Hi, I’m Liz, one of the other actors.  We had a great day yesterday meeting everyone and getting cracking on the scripts.  The plays are all really different which is very exciting for an actor as we can play around with different characters and acting styles.  “The Dark Rider” was especially fun to work on, particularly as it involved all six actors.  Estella plays a character called Lisa who fancies a guy called AJ who is played by Ilan.  (Estella was very convincing in this role – I’m not sure how much of it was acting or whether she really does have the hots for Ilan… hmmm) Anyway, back to work!  This morning I began by playing an old grandma in “The Diet” and in a moment Estella and I will be starting on “Nintendo Crazy” where I’ll be playing her daughter.  Looking forward to seeing how the plays (and Estella’s crush…) develop over the next two weeks!

My name’s Ilan and I’m another actor. Today we have been working on Last Man Standing by Philip. It is difficult stuff to act because it is very emotionally intense! It is set in the Second World War and the actors are all soldiers. Some of us die and get bad news from home. It is very sad. (But we also giggle quite a lot because we’re all very silly. Mostly, it’s Claire’s fault because she does a funny Newcastle accent.)

Hello, Claire here. Yep you guessed it…ANOTHER ACTOR! I would like to take this opportunity to say that my Newcastle accent IS NOT FUNNY! I personally blame all the giggles on Nick! We had a busy day yesterday and last night I went home and tried to learn some of the lines. We just did a quick rehearsal of ‘Cuss Fight’ and I think its safe to say everyone knows the lines for that. One down 21 to go! We have just finished blocking ‘The Glove of Despair’ which was really fun. I really like all the magic and I get to wear a really nice pair of long gloves.  I think the best bit of that rehearsal is when Nick got completely tangled up in his cloak.
I need to go and get learning some more lines.  I think I better start learning ‘The Vixen Association’ next, I’ve got quite a few lines in that one. See ya!
