Hey there, hope your all enjoying your weekend! This week has been fantastic. We’ve blocked all 22 plays, now adding the detail.

Well it’s been a steep learning curve for me. Though the plays are not very long, it’s quite a challenge to try and learn 20 odd characters, all their lines, moves and songs in just under a week. It’s like having several different types of personalities all at once as you have to try and juggle who you are and what you have to say each time you go on.

One thing I have found helpful is to imagine what each character would sound and move like. So accent and body language is very important. You have to think where your character is from, how they sound and then decide how they move. For example, sometimes a character will be from Wales, is very excitable which means that they move around the stage very quickly. Or they could be from London, be a bit scared of everything and have droopy shoulders.

Now comes the challenge of making it all fit on the stage, make sure all our scene changes and costume changes go smoothly.

I really do hope that each playwright enjoys how we have portrayed their characters and will have a good time watching their hard work in action!

Yes, we are rehearsing on a Saturday and it’s such a beautiful day out. Today we did a run through of all of Thursdays plays. They are a real diverse bunch ranging from a girl who is forced to give up football for ballet in the aptly named ‘Boot or Ballet’, to a family who’s holiday to the Lebanon doesn’t quite go as planned, in ‘Holiday from Hell’.
In ‘The Step Sister’, I play the bitchy Lucy who really hates her stepsister. It’s a juicy role which I love playing. She’s totally different to me of course, I’m an angel!

OK, I’m off to learn some lines and try to catch a few rays.
