NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER

Following on from Soho Theatre’s current season of work being presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Artistic Director Steve Marmion has announced 25 new shows for September – November 2012 at Soho Theatre. Featuring an ambitious new site-specific interpretation of the opera Madame Butterfly, continuing a commitment of presenting opera in creative and accessible ways. Plus an exciting continuation of new theatre work and the very best of comedy and cabaret from across the world.

Highlights include:

FINDING BUTTERFLY a re-interpretation of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, one of the most-loved and iconic works in the opera canon, in a new site-specific production.

CRICK CRACK CLUB return to present international fairytales, epics and myths.

I HEART PETERBOROUGH fresh from the Edinburgh Festival, Joel Horwood’s new play presents a no holds barred depiction of ‘growing up gay’ in a provincial city.

TERROR for its second year at Soho Theatre for another season of twisted tales, cabaret and Halloween oddities.

THE KINGDOM drawn from the myths of ancient Greece, Colin Teevan’s new play captures life as an Irish navvy – a world of immigration, violence, sex, triumph and ultimately, tragedy.

ARAB NIGHTS an Arabian Nights for a modern age, responding to the Arab Revolutions in this collection of short plays by writers from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

PAJAMA MEN after eight weeks of smashing it on the West End, the Pajama Men return home to Soho Theatre with their new show coming straight from Edinburgh.

SHAPPI KHORSANDI one of the UK’s leading comedians returns for a full run in at Soho Theatre, bringing her new show about her impossibly romantic dreams.

DINA MARTINA the international sensation brings ludicrous song and dance, overburdened costumes and horrifying video to Soho.

Plus Alternative Comedy Memorial Society, Idiots of Ants, David Baddiel, Rob Delaney, New Art Club, Claudia O’Doherty, Chris Ramsey, Scottee and Felicity Ward
