Dr Brown, one of our best comedy friends, recently scooped the top prize at the Melbourne Comedy Festival with his show Befrdfgth winning the Barry Award. Now, he has been commissioned by Channel 4 to create online shorts as part of their Comedy Blaps series; the broadcaster’s new online initiative to get some of the best comedians creating comedy content available on Channel4.com, YouTube and Vimeo as well as a podcast through iTunes and Feedburner.

Baby Cow is producing the 13.5 minutes of content. It also produced animated shorts based on characters from Viz for the first round of Comedy Blaps which have attracted more than 2 million views across all platforms.

Jody Smith, who commissions online content for Channel 4, said: ‘With more than two million views we couldn’t have hoped for a noisier start to Comedy Blaps last year. Doctor Brown and Nick Helm will bring a different flavour which we think will go down just as well.’
